Prayer for Strength to get Through the Day
Dear Lord please help me to carry on with strength on this day that you have given me. Give me the strength to bear all burdens for you as Jesus had the strength to bear the cross for me. Help me to understand that difficult times can make us stronger in the end and that you have a plan for all of us, even though it may not always be easy to see. Give me the strength to carry out your will and to stay positive throughout this difficult day. I offer this prayer to you as a plea and as thanksgiving for all you have given me in life thus far. Thank you Lord. Amen
Prayer for Strength to get Through the Loss of a Loved One
Lord grant me the strength to make it through this difficult time. Grant me the strength to understand that not my will, but Yours be done. Help me to realize that I need not feel sorry for myself, but to focus on the good that he/she has brought to this wonderful Earth of yours. Give me the strength to see through my sorrow and pray for his/her soul Lord. In your name I pray. Amen
I love the 23rd Psalm, and the Our Father and Ave Maria. My mother grew up Catholic, but did not share these ypraers with me. I’m not quite sure how they became part of me, but by age 14 I had absorbed them and they return to me in times of stress. Ten years ago, I heard the men’s acapella group, Chanticleer, sing Franz Bibel’s rendition of the Ave Maria. This is now my favorite piece of sacred music. I play it over and over and over at Christmas time. It soars. Two years ago, I walked through the valley of the shadow of death with my son. One day, as I walked through the pediatric cardiac ICU to my son’s bed, those words from the 23rd Psalm came to me, and I finally recognized where I was. Although my son’s health was unstable and the outcome was uncertain, I feared no evil. The Lord was with me. I want my daughter to have that same bedrock of beauty and certainty buried deep inside of her to be revealed and leaned on it times of stress. She just finished memorizing the 23rd Psalm (It took nearly three months she’s only five). Now, we’ve moved on to the Our Father.
I will be going to Sibu & Bintulu tomorrow en route to Sungai Asap to natetd a function there. Please pray for my safety & those I leave behind (my beloved children & wife). May God Almighty protect our body & souls and deliver us from evil. Please also pray for both my parents at my longhouse. May God always be with them. For all my brother & sisters wherever they are, let’s the light of the Lord be their true guide. For all my enemies & those who can’t go along with me for whatsoever reasons, I pray to the Lord, protect them, forgive their sins & let they know that they have been forgiven. Amen.[]
